ABOUT THE GAME

Made in collabaration with Iamprogrez

Unravel the mysteries.

Uppåkra Archaeological Foundation is a non-profit organisation in the south of Sweden. They have the mission of mediating a fantastic archaeological site called Uppåkra.

“In mainland Sweden just short of Malmo the remains of one of the greatest Iron Age villages in Northern Europe lies hidden. For over 1100 years, this was a big centre of power. It was the home of a dynasty of rulers, and a holy place where people worshipped the old Norse Gods; Odin among many others. Today, there is nothing above ground more than acres and fields. Only 0,2% has yet been excavated, and we are facing a unique possibility to rewrite history!”

- Sofia Winge, Archaeologist and Science Educator

The organisation allows visitors (including children) help excavate the mysteries of Uppåkra. The game helps children to gain interest in these stories of Uppakra by giving them the possibility to travel to the past and live among the civilizations that lived there.

ABOUT THE GAME

Different times, different quests.

We designed 7 main quests that travel players back in time. These quests are connected to the object players excavate in the present time. By laying a connection between the present and past, we widened the players view and show them that a simple object can have a big story connected to it.

ABOUT THE GAME

An innovative way of teaching history.

Uppåkra Archaeological Foundation and we believe that subjects falling within the category of history have great possibilities of gamification. While most children learn history by reading books, this game combines reading and playing in an immersive way that feeds imagination.
